Privacy Policy

1. What this notice covers

This notice applies when you visit my website, book a meeting with me through Calendly, or correspond with me about a potential or current engagement.

Calendly is accessed through an external link and is not embedded in this website. When you use Calendly, it will also provide its own privacy information about the ways in which it processes personal information for its own purposes.

2. Personal information I collect

Information you provide may include:

  • your name and email address;

  • your company name, occupation, role or job title, where you choose to provide it;

  • meeting details, including the date, time and time zone of a booking; and

  • information you include in a Calendly booking form, email or other correspondence.

When you visit the website, Framer may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the website. This may include your IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, and server or security logs.

Please do not include health information, financial details or other sensitive personal information in a booking form unless it is genuinely necessary for your enquiry.

3. How and why I use personal information

We don’t sell or rent your personal data. We may share your information with trusted third-party services we use (e.g. analytics, payment processors), only when necessary and under confidentiality.

4. My legitimate interests

Where I rely on legitimate interests, those interests are to run and protect my business, maintain a secure and functional website, respond to expected business enquiries, assess potential engagements and keep proportionate records of business communications. I consider this processing low risk and limited to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes.

5. Where I get personal information from

I usually receive personal information directly from you when you make a booking or contact me. Limited technical information is generated automatically when the website is delivered through Framer.

6. Who I share personal information with

I use the following service providers to operate the website and manage enquiries:

  • Calendly - meeting scheduling and booking management;

  • Framer - website hosting and publishing; and

  • Google Workspace - email, calendar and business communications.

These providers process personal information to deliver their services to me and may also use approved subprocessors. I may also disclose information to professional advisers, courts, regulators or public authorities where this is reasonably necessary or required by law.

I do not sell personal information and I do not share it with advertisers.

7. International transfers

Some service providers or their subprocessors may process personal information outside the UK. For example, Calendly may process booking information in the United States, while Framer and Google may use infrastructure or subprocessors in the UK, the EEA and other countries.

Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, the relevant provider must use a lawful transfer mechanism. This may include UK adequacy regulations or a UK data bridge, or approved contractual safeguards such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact me for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

8. How long I keep personal information

Booking and enquiry information is normally retained for 12 months after our last meaningful contact, unless the enquiry develops into a client engagement.

Where you become a client, relevant engagement, correspondence and business records are normally retained for up to six years after the engagement ends, where this is necessary for contractual, legal, tax, accounting or dispute-management purposes.

Technical logs are retained by the relevant service provider only for the period needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot its service. I do not use those logs for advertising or behavioural analytics.

I may delete information sooner where it is no longer needed. I may retain it for longer where required by law or where reasonably necessary in connection with a legal claim.

9. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your personal information;

  • ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • ask me to delete your information;

  • ask me to restrict how your information is used;

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests; and

  • receive or transfer information you provided to me in a portable format, where that right applies.

To exercise a right, email ryan@ryantayburn.co.uk. I will normally respond within one month. Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.

10. How to complain

Please contact me first at hello@ryantayburn.co.uk if you have concerns about how I use your personal information.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
